How to Prepare for Your Interior Painting Contractor

So, you’ve decided to hire the experts at B&M Painting to update and freshen the interior of your home with a new painting project? Congratulations! Here are some steps to take that will help you to prepare for our team, so that the process will go as quickly and smoothly.

Please clean the floors for our team.

Mop if necessary, sweep, or vacuum, because dirty floors will hinder the process of the prep work by our team. Laying down tape, plastic coverings, and tarp will not be as efficient if there is a layer of dirt, dust or pet hair underneath.

Wipe off the baseboards and walls for the painting contractors.

Part of the prep work by our staff involves taping the surfaces is to tape either baseboards or walls. If the surfaces are dirty, the tape will not adhere properly. This could cause paint to seep underneath.

Lock away the pets for the painters!

As a favor for the painting contractors, lock away any pets that roam around your home. To have pets in the work area is a potential liability. An accident could injure either the pet or painters.

Move furniture for the painting contractors.

Furniture should be moved away from the walls to accommodate the painters. Please temporarily store away small items like knick-knacks and wall paintings. When it comes to large, heavy items such as bed frames our friendly staff should be able to accommodate. To avoid extra charges, remove items that are in bookcases and china cabinets.
